Team 977 Banner  
Team 977 was created in January of 2002 and consisted of 5 students and 7 advisors. The team competed at the NASA/VCU Regional in March of 2002 and placed 16th out of 63 teams.

In 2003 the team had grown to 20 students and advisors. The team competed in the 2003 NASA/VCU regional event and finished 2nd overall and was awarded the Daimler “Team Spirit Award”. The team competed at the National Championship in Houston, Texas in April of 2003 finishing 167th out of 300 teams throughout the world.

In 2004, the team continued on its winning ways. Now a team of about 30, the team not only was awarded the Delphi “driving Tomorrows Technology” award at the NASA/VCU regional but finished up the competition as the regional champion along with its two alliance partners. Team 977 then traveled to Atlanta, Georgia in April 2004 to compete in the National competition, finishing 82nd in the world.

The 2004-05 team is in preparation for the upcoming season. Presently the team has grown to 40 students and advisors and will be competing in the 2005 NASA/VCU regional in March 2005 and has already been accepted to compete in the National competition in April 2005 in Atlanta, Ga. Team 977 was awarded the Southern Piedmont Technology Council “Leadership in Outreach” award in November of 2004 for the impact it has had on the community.
