Rochester High School in Rochester, Vermont, was part of the very first FIRST Robotics Competition that was held. For nine years after that, however, there was no Vermont team. In 2002 an engineer from a FIRST Robotics team from New Jersey met with the teacher from that first Rochester, Vermont, team and Team 885 was born! Team 885 is still the only FIRST Robotics team located in Vermont.
