The award we got last year THE ROOKIE ALL-STAR AWARD granted a amall team of six a trip to the National's in Atlanta, Georgia we we did very well through our team's gracious proffessionalism and mobility to work as a team. This year we are thankful to the undergraduate students, faculty and staff in the School of Engineering who worked with us high-school students that participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition.

In 6 short weeks, they design and build a robot for the FIRST competition, while learning about science and technology in a fun, hands-on way. During the 'build', they solve fundamental engineering problems and even try out new technologies. For example, the 2005 team earned the Xerox Creativity Award for a component they created using the Rapid Prototype machine located in the Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory. Hard work definitly paid off.
