We are FIRST Team #117, the Steel Dragons. Created in 1998 by Taylor Allderdice High School, we are one of the oldest FIRST teams. In 2002, we created a petition to create a FIRST regional competition in Pittsburgh. With the help of the signatures of many teams, this regional now attracts many teams yearly. Since then, we have mentored teams such as a 2003 partnership with Peabody High School. In 2004 we won the regional Autodesk Visualization Award. We also conduct yearly visits to local elementary and middle schools.
