1053 - Glebe Gryphons

The Glebe Gryphons are eagerly awaiting the 2006 Greater Toronto Regional Robotics games. This year's game will require a lot of focus on design and construction. Our results from last year's competition have encouraged us to have even higher goals for this year's team.

The team consists of students ranging from grades 9 to 12 who have all been working diligently to perform their best at this year's games. As with every year, we've encountered some dilemmas while preparing for the overall competition. Dealing with issues from fundraising to design has helped the grow together.

Both new and returning mentors are eager to compete in another year's competition. We are glad to have them with us as it means once again that we have skilled and experienced people to guide us on our quest.

Once again, this year, we broke up into different sections to better maximize the team member's talents. Everyone was given the choice of area of specialization. Most members moved between design and construction of the robot, written documentation, video documentation, and web site development, but a few members stayed true to one section.
Many of our team members plan on going into careers in technology or the sciences, and this gives them an excellent opportunity to work in these fields. Other members, however, are simply on the team pursuing other interests, or looking to build more friendships and to create memories. All in all, our team is very hyped about this year's competition, and we hope to meet our goals.
