Established in 1964, U of G consists of six colleges whose undergraduate and graduate programs span the natural and physical sciences, social sciences and humanities:

College of Social and Applied Human Sciences

The main campus spans 1,017 acres (412 hectares), including a 408-acre (165-hectare) arboretum and a 30-acre (12-hectare) research park

Beginning in Fall 2002, the University of Guelph-Humber admitted students to its programs. The University of Guelph-Humber builds on the combined strengths and traditions of the University of Guelph and Humber College - two of Ontario 's leading educational institutions. Students receive an honours university degree and an applied college diploma in just four years.

The University of Guelph through its enhanced partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food (OMAF) includes 3 college campuses at Alfred, Kemptville and Ridgetown which award diplomas.
