Casper College
Casper College is located in the heart of the high plains in a community rich with history. In the early days of the west, Casper was a river crossing and the hub of famous trails - including the Bozeman, Mormon and Oregon. The town was named for Caspar Collins, a cavalryman who died during a frontier battle near an army fort here in the late 1800s. After the turn of the 20th century oil became a precious commodity and Casper, thanks to extensive exploration and development in Wyoming, became know as an oil town. Today, it is still one of the energy capitals of the West, serving the needs of industries like oil, coal, natural gas and coal bed methane development. Agriculture and business also drive the local economy.

The Casper Community is an active hub for Wyoming. Many of the state's high school championships are played in Casper. Casper is home to two professional sports teams: the Wyoming Cavalry indoor football team and the Casper Rockies baseball team.

Because of its size, Casper offers plenty of jobs and internship opportunities. When it is time to play, Casper Mountain features many cross country bike and skiing trails and is home to Hogadon Basin Ski Area, located just 25 minutes from the college campus. Plenty of nearby lakes and rivers await the outdoor enthusiast. In addition, Casper is home to 4 golf courses and a new Kayaking Water Park all located within the Casper city limits.
